Two curious little foxes have arrived at Mouse House Collective, and they're looking for somewhere to call home!
Meet the new Maileg Big Brother Fox and Little Brother Fox, part of the FW26 Woodland Friends collection.
With their beautiful fabric details and distinctive fox faces, they're wonderful additions to the Maileg world. But if you're thinking about furnishing a home for these two brothers, there's something important to know.
Not all Maileg furniture suits the Fox Brothers.
And because Maileg furniture comes in different sizes, it's not always easy to tell what will work just by looking at product photographs.
So we've been doing what we love best at Mouse House Collective, bringing out the furniture, sitting the characters down and seeing what actually fits.

Meet the Maileg Fox Brothers
The Maileg Big Brother Fox and Maileg Little Brother Fox are two new woodland characters from the FW26 collection.
Although they're called Big Brother and Little Brother, their proportions are different from those of Maileg mice with similar family names.
This is an important distinction when choosing beds, chairs and other miniature accessories.
The Fox Brothers also don't have magnets in their paws, so accessories designed specifically for magnetic mouse paws may not work in the same way.

How Big Are the Maileg Fox Brothers Compared to Dad Mouse?
The new Maileg FW26 Fox Brothers are quite a bit taller than the familiar Maileg mice, which is important to know when choosing furniture.
Here are their heights:

Big Brother Fox stands approximately 8.5 cm taller than Dad Mouse, while Little Brother Fox is around 6 cm taller.
Although they're called Big Brother and Little Brother, these foxes are considerably taller than their mouse counterparts.
We placed the brothers alongside Dad Mouse to demonstrate the difference. It's a helpful comparison for anyone who already owns Maileg mice and is wondering whether their existing furniture will suit the new woodland characters.
Their extra height and longer proportions help explain why some Mouse-sized furniture, particularly beds and bunk beds, isn't suitable for them.
That's why we always recommend checking measurements before choosing furniture for your Maileg collection.
Do the Maileg Fox Brothers Fit the Miniature Sofa?
Good news for our two woodland visitors!
When we tried the Fox Brothers on the Maileg Miniature sofa, both were able to sit comfortably.
This makes the sofa a lovely option for creating a woodland living room or a cosy place for the brothers to relax after their adventures.
It's also a good example of why testing furniture with the actual characters is so helpful.
Do the Fox Brothers Fit the Maileg Double Bed?
Next, it was time to find somewhere for the brothers to sleep.
We tried the Maileg Double Bed, and this was a much closer fit.
Little Brother Fox only just fits in the bed, which means it isn't a suitable choice for Big Brother Fox.
This is exactly the sort of detail that can be difficult to judge from a product listing alone.
A bed may look generous in a photograph, but the length of the character makes all the difference.
Can the Fox Brothers Sleep in Maileg Mouse Bunk Beds?
We also tested the familiar Maileg Mouse Bunk Beds.
Unfortunately, these are too small for the Fox Brothers.
Even Little Brother Fox is too big to fit properly.
So while the bunk beds are a lovely addition to a Maileg mouse house, we wouldn't recommend purchasing them as beds for the Fox Brothers.
Our finding: The Maileg Mouse Bunk Beds are not suitable for either Fox Brother.
What About the Maileg Miniature Kitchen?
Of course, a home needs more than somewhere to sit and sleep.
We also tried the Fox Brothers with the Maileg Miniature kitchen furniture.
Both brothers looked at home in the kitchen setting, and the Miniature kitchen worked well as part of their little woodland world.
We photographed Big Brother Fox beside the Miniature fridge and kitchen to help show how the furniture compares with his height.
This is a lovely option if you're planning a woodland house or creating a miniature kitchen scene for your foxes.
Mouse Size vs Miniature Size: Why Does It Matter?
One of the most common questions we hear at Mouse House Collective is whether Maileg Mouse furniture and Miniature furniture are interchangeable.
The answer is that it depends on the character and the particular piece of furniture.
As we've discovered with the Fox Brothers, the Miniature sofa and kitchen setting work well, while the Mouse Bunk Beds are too small.
Even within a furniture range, individual pieces can fit differently.
That's why we always recommend checking the actual character and furniture measurements rather than relying only on the size category.
Where Should the Maileg Fox Brothers Live?
After trying out the furniture, we think the Fox Brothers would look right at home in a miniature woodland setting.
The Maileg House of Miniature offers opportunities to create different rooms, while a custom woodland scene can be just as charming.
You could add a sofa, kitchen furniture, rugs and a few cosy accessories to create a home that suits their personalities.
Perhaps Big Brother enjoys relaxing on the sofa while Little Brother explores the kitchen.
Or maybe they're neighbours to the Reindeer family, visiting Little Sister's Forest Cabin before heading home for the evening.
The important thing is choosing furniture that fits rather than assuming every Maileg accessory will work.

Are Maileg Fox Brothers the same size as Big Brother and Little Brother mice?
No. The Fox Brothers have different proportions from Maileg mice, so furniture designed for mice with similar names may not fit them.
Do the Maileg Fox Brothers fit Mouse Bunk Beds?
No. We tested the Mouse Bunk Beds, and even Little Brother Fox was too big.

Which Maileg house is best for the Fox Brothers?
