What actually fits inside it?
The short answer is that the House of Miniature belongs to the larger side of the Maileg world. Miniature furniture is the main furniture range to look for, while My, Micro, Size 1 and Size 2 Bunnies and Rabbits, along with the Teddy family, can all make themselves at home.
But Miniature isn't the only furniture that works. Some Micro furniture and accessories work beautifully too, including pieces such as the Micro Pram and Micro Stroller.
That's where Maileg sizing can become confusing.

Meet the Maileg House of Miniature
The Maileg House of Miniature is one of the largest homes in the Maileg world.
At approximately 80 cm high × 72 cm wide × 40 cm deep, there is plenty of room to create bedrooms, a kitchen, living spaces and all those tiny details that eventually make a Maileg house feel like home.
And you certainly don't need to furnish every room on the first day.
Start with a bed.
Add a kitchen later.
Perhaps a couch arrives for Christmas.
Then a lamp, a shelf or a table and chairs.
Before you know it, an empty house has become a little world of its own.
What Furniture Fits in the Maileg House of Miniature?
If you're shopping specifically for the House of Miniature, here's the easiest way to choose.
Miniature furniture — YES
This is the main furniture range for the House of Miniature. Kitchens, beds, couches, wardrobes, tables, chairs and other Miniature pieces are the first place we recommend looking.
Micro furniture and accessories — YES, many pieces
Don't dismiss a piece simply because it says Micro. Some Micro pieces work beautifully in the House of Miniature, including the Micro Pram and Micro Stroller. Check the individual product measurements, description and images.
My, Micro, Size 1 and Size 2 Bunnies & Rabbits — YES
These Bunny and Rabbit sizes can all be part of the House of Miniature world. Their proportions will differ, with the smaller My and Micro characters naturally looking more petite beside the larger furniture.
Teddy Family — YES
The Maileg Teddy family also works beautifully in the House of Miniature.
Maileg Mice — YES, but expect a smaller scale
Your mice can absolutely move in. They will simply look smaller beside much of the Miniature furniture.
Mouse furniture — YES, but it will generally look smaller
Mouse furniture can be used in the House of Miniature too, but because it is designed around the mice, it will generally appear more petite within the larger rooms.
Our easiest shopping tip
Look at the character Maileg has photographed with the piece.
As a general rule, if you see a Bunny or Rabbit using the furniture or accessory, that's a good indication you're looking at a piece from the larger side of the Maileg world.
Then check the measurements and product description before you choose.

Understanding My, Micro, Size 1 and Size 2
The House of Miniature isn't only about furniture. You also need to know who can live there.
Maileg's Bunny and Rabbit family comes in several sizes:
My is the smallest, followed by Micro, then the larger Size 1 and Size 2 Bunnies and Rabbits.
My, Micro, Size 1 and Size 2 Bunnies and Rabbits can all be used in the House of Miniature.
The smaller My and Micro characters will naturally look more petite in the large rooms, while Size 1 and Size 2 Bunnies and Rabbits work particularly well with the larger Miniature furniture.
The Maileg Teddy family is also at home in the House of Miniature.
This is why looking at Maileg's product photographs is so useful. If a bed, chair, pram or other piece is shown with a Bunny or Rabbit, the character gives you a helpful visual reference for its scale.
The Easiest Way to Know if Something Will Fit
When shopping for your House of Miniature, don't rely on the words My, Micro, Mouse or Miniature alone.
Instead, look at the individual product.
Check the photos.
Which character is using it? As a general rule, furniture shown with a Bunny or Rabbit tends to be from the larger side of the Maileg world.
Check the measurements.
A Micro piece isn't automatically tiny. The Micro Pram and Micro Stroller are perfect examples of pieces that work beautifully in the House of Miniature.
Read the description.
Look for information about which characters or Maileg world the piece has been designed for.

Sometimes a photo tells you far more than a measurement on a screen.
Can Maileg Mice Live in the House of Miniature?
Yes.
Maileg mice can absolutely live and play in the House of Miniature, but it is important to understand that they are smaller in scale than the larger Bunnies and Rabbits.
Mouse furniture is also generally smaller than Miniature furniture, so it will look more petite within the larger rooms.
If you put a Maileg mouse beside a Miniature couch, bed or kitchen, the furniture may look deliberately oversized.
We actually love that look with some pieces — particularly an oversized lamp or a wonderfully grand couch — but knowing the scale beforehand means there are no surprises when your order arrives.
So yes, mice and Mouse furniture can be used in the House of Miniature. Just expect them to look smaller within the larger house.
A Lovely Choice for Little Hands
One of the things we particularly like about the House of Miniature is its larger scale.
Many of the larger Miniature furniture pieces are easier for little hands to hold, move and arrange than some of the tiniest accessories in the Mouse world.
That can make furnishing rooms, putting characters to bed, preparing imaginary meals and moving everything around during play a little easier.
Maileg pieces are generally recommended for children aged 3 years and over, although you should always check the age recommendation on each individual product before purchasing.
The House of Miniature can then continue to grow with them.
A few larger pieces might begin the collection, with all those tiny treasures and details arriving as little hands — and imaginations — grow.
What Should I Buy First for the House of Miniature?
You definitely don't need to furnish the entire house at once.
We actually think it's much more fun not to.
Part of the magic of Maileg is watching a collection grow over time.
Start With a Bedroom
A bed is one of the easiest ways to begin.
Add a wardrobe, bedside piece or lamp and suddenly one little corner of the house belongs to someone.
Perhaps a Bunny moves in next.
Create the Kitchen
A beautiful kitchen immediately gives another room a story.
Add a table and chairs later, followed by some tiny food and kitchen accessories, and soon there is somewhere for everyone to gather.
Add Somewhere to Sit
Every Maileg home needs somewhere for afternoon tea.
A couch or armchair can turn an empty room into a living space.
Then come the little things — a lamp, a shelf, a rug and all those tiny accessories that somehow make the biggest difference.
What About the Bathroom?
The House of Miniature can grow beyond the original house too.
The separate House of Miniature Bathroom gives your Maileg family another dedicated room, while the Bonus Room provides even more space to play and decorate.
You don't need these additions when you begin.
They can become part of the story later — perhaps for a birthday or Christmas when you're wondering what the house needs next.
Is the Maileg House of Miniature Worth It?
If you are looking for a substantial Maileg dollhouse that can become the centre of a collection, the House of Miniature is very special.
But we don't really think of it as something that needs to be completed.
The house itself is the beginning.
One piece might arrive for a birthday.
Another at Christmas.
A new Bunny moves in.
Someone needs a bed.
Then, naturally, they need a kitchen.
And perhaps a couch.
Before long, those individual pieces have become a home filled with familiar characters, little traditions and stories of their own.
